— The Guardian Weekly

As of issue date 12th October 2018, The Guardian Weekly will change from being a newspaper product to a news weekly magazine, and is currently undergoing a major redesign process.

The purpose of this change is to compete in the weekly news market alongside titles such as The Economist, The Week, Time and The New Statesman, and hopefully reach new readers who may no longer buy a daily newspaper but struggle to keep up with the flow of daily news online. We are really excited about the new product which will include more content and will be printed on a more premium paper, stock of which is still to be decided.

The new dimensions will be 272mm high by 209.5 mm wide, 64pp, and 109 grams in weight, and as we mentioned will now need to be placed amongst the other news weekly magazines as opposed to where it currently sits with the newspapers at retail.
