In addition to statistical modelling, IPS operates a “Pull” vs. “Push” distribution model which aims to minimise waste and maximise sales opportunities for all publications. IPS utilises its strong relationships with newsagents and retailers in conjunction with rich market intelligence to determine the most suitable supply level for each individual outlet. Using the IPS online ordering system, retailers can modify their supply levels to meet the demand of their local area. This distribution model allows IPS to determine the optimum supply levels for each edition, reducing production costs, minimising sell outs and maximising the sales efficiency for each publication.
IPS supports both Publishers and the newsagent industry. Newsagents currently pay to send back full copy returns for unsold copies in metropolitan areas. The IPS distribution model supports the Pull vs. Push allocation model where we only supply the market with what is in demand. Due to this model full copy returns are not offered by IPS and we believe allocations should be regularly reviewed to save both the newsagent and you the Publisher the extra costs of unnecessary movement of copies.
As an added feature for you and your readers, IPS offers a Google map function allowing your customers to click on a link, type in your publication and their postcode producing a Google map pin pointing all the outlets your publication is on-sale in their specific area.
