The Bathurst 1000 is always considered the pinnacle event of Australian motorsport, but the 2020 edition takes on even more significance as for the first time in 20 years it will be the final race of the season and will more than likely decide the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Champion. Hence, this year’s race is expected to be hotly contested. With Holden’s withdrawal from the Australian market from the end of this year, the 2020 Great Race will be the last time that Holden and Ford go head-to-head in a rivalry that has lasted on Australian race tracks for more than half a century. The Bathurst program is the official record of the race and is considered a collectors item. Many fans have been collecting the official Bathurst program for more than 30 years and will be determined not to miss out on purchasing the program in 2020. With crowds expected to be extremely limited due to Covid-19 in 2020, the local newsagents will be the majority of fans’ only option to purchase the official program.
